10,000 m² of composite slab with INCO 100.3 for 121 homes in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid) - Spain
Industrialized construction using the steel framing and composite slab system, covering spans of up to 4 m free span without the need for propping.
The residential project of 121 Build-To-Rent homes in Torrejón de Ardoz, has had a budget of 170 million euros. The construction company ACR has incorporated new industrialization techniques and the Afca Teccon steel frame system in the construction of the houses, both in the façade, as well as in the slabs and structure.
Steel framing is a construction system based on the use of galvanized steel profiles for the creation of structures and enclosures in the building, which allows a faster, more efficient and sustainable construction than traditional construction. In this project, steel framing has been combined with the composite slab system made with the INCO 100.3 profile, which has allowed the construction of two blocks of 121 homes and up to 6 stories high in a period of 13 months, which represents a significant reduction compared to other traditional building systems.
In this project, the floor has been resolved with the INCO 100.3 composite slab profile in a thickness of 1.20 mm, with a slab edge of 170 mm to comply with the REI 90 fire requirement and covering spans of up to 4.00 meters without the need for propping. This profile is transported by standard truck reaching up to 1,500 m² per truck.
It should be noted that this project has the BREEAM certificate, which is a system for evaluating and certifying the sustainability of buildings. The BREEAM certificate takes into account criteria such as energy efficiency, water management, indoor air quality, waste management and the selection of materials, among others.
